No Woods, No Worries

Tiger Woods has never been feared for his contribution to the US team in Ryder Cup competitions. Many say he simple cannot compete as part of a team and needs his famous solitary focus to put him in the 'zone'.

Now that the US Open champ is out for the season due to knee surgery, the Americans will have to take on Europe without him in September. This could knock their confidence, even though Woods is rarely a match winner at the event.

Colin Montgomerie however believes Woods missing the Ryder Cup might not necessarily work to Europe's advantage. Monty says his absence could galvanise the US players.
